LUXE FILM FOR THE LANGHAM & JEWEL
A bespoke mini treatment for Stan
A Flagship filmic asset for Langham
To be candid, I was completely unaware of the Langham Gold Coast until recently and was absolutely stunned by the standout nature of its architecture and offering. The properties are instantly iconic in a way that sets them apart from other hotels at this level. It's comparable to the Marina Bay Sands, and calls for a similar filmic treatment.
Referencing everything at stephenengstrom.com/staycinema — this exclusive film for Langham & Jewel Residences seeks to:
Drive immediate bookings and property sales
Increase long-term brand value and prestige
Further develop the brand's personality
Align Langham with fashion and other luxury brands
Elevate beyond the sea of standard hospitality content
Create waves through industry-facing PR and consumer-facing social media channels
The film will be executed at true feature film standards, with a serious cinematographer — Tyson Perkins as first choice (subject to scope and availability). This is not a DSLR shoot with drone and gimbal. It will be an ARRI-led cinema package that captures the property at the level it deserves.
Title: Be Jeweled
This concept came quickly. The design of the buildings as rough gems rising from the coastline was so inspiring that the execution wrote itself. It heroes the architecture, and cements this unparalleled destination in symbolism and iconography.
Our story follows a young woman, the booking decision-maker representing 80% of luxury travel choices, who stumbles upon a Jewel in the sand that gives her unbridled access to the Langham and Jewel Residences.
Tonally, it's magical realism with a wry smile. Not too sincere, not too jokey — elevated, fun, self-aware, and dreamy. Think fashion campaign, not hotel ad.
A morning stroll on an ordinary beach, a young woman, dressed in casual wear…
She stumbles upon a shiny object protruding from the sand…
The gemstone reflects Jewel-shaped buildings
She’s transformed and summoned by the Langham/Jewel
Possessed with main character energy, she finds quickly finds herself in a sports car heading for the Langham/Jewel
The jewel is now her Golden ticket… as she shows it at the front desk–fake it ‘til you make it energy…
it unlocks the Chairman…
She soaks up the ocean’s reflection…
The Jewel catches the attention of the bar staff…
accesses the spa…
Hold up… a light from a different jewel splashes her face.
Another lucky guest, also bejeweled…
The discovery of the Jewel mirrors that feeling we all know, suddenly finding yourself somewhere you can't quite believe you get to be, but owning it just the same. It signifies that yes, this is a special offering, it costs, but with a bit of luck, it’s not out of your grasp.
Our hero starts ordinary and then elevates. That's intentional. She speaks to two audiences simultaneously — those who aspire to a stay/home like this, and those already in a position to book it who simply need the right nudge.
A note on the use of the Jewel

Deliverables
Production runs through a high-end cinema pipeline using Arri systems — the same standard trusted across feature film and luxury commercial work. Motion and stills are captured simultaneously, creating a unified visual language across the property campaign, brand presence, social, website, press, and future residences presentations.
The intention is work that rises above the saturation of standard hotel content. Enduring rather than disposable — a lasting asset that elevates the property and the brand behind it.
Upon completion the film premieres across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and all relevant digital channels, with the shareability and organic conversation it's designed to generate, alongside the option to activate across paid distribution.

Editors Grade and Retouch
The typical timeline runs 3 to 4 weeks from pre-production through to final delivery.
The director and DOP will fly up from Sydney for a recce prior to shoot. The shoot itself requires one day with a potential half day for pickups. Depending on scope, cast and crew will be 5 to 10 people and may require some light involvement from hotel staff.
Accommodation and catering from the property will help streamline the process.
We'll be conscious of guests and residents throughout and aim to keep a low footprint. That said, in our experience a shoot like this tends to be a genuine thrill for anyone who happens to witness it.
Production
Again, this is not videography work. It's a premium, director-led production with cinema equipment, proper talent, crew, art direction, colour grade, sound design, and priced accordingly.
Steve has led productions at $500K+ but equally knows how to make a $30K production punch well above its weight. As a hybrid of advertising agency and production company, the investment will be far more cost-effective than briefing two separate entities, removing significant overhead from the process.
We'd also look to bring in aligned luxury fashion, swimwear and automotive partners to add further value and potentially contribute to the budget.
With the awareness that a production like this involves budget allocation and internal approvals, let's talk through the numbers and shape the scope around what works for The Langham and Jewel residences.
